Services Offered
Divorce / Dissolution of Partnership
As the neutral mediator or as one party’s collaborative attorney, my services empower clients to participate in constructive dialogue and creative solutions for dissolving their marriage or domestic partnership. The underlying goal in both Mediation and in a Collaborative Divorce is to stay out of the adversarial court process and to work together toward a mutually agreeable solution. Both process options require good faith negotiation, honesty, and the capacity to compromise.
Mediated Divorce
Mediation is a facilitated discussion between two parties. The Mediator acts as a guide who provides a structure for negotiation and supports the parties in problem-solving.
Collaborative Divorce
Each party has their own individual (specially trained) attorney in a Collaborative Divorce. The parties and their respective attorneys work together as a team to create an agreement that feels equitable to both parties.
Premarital and Cohabitation Agreements
Entering into a marriage or registered domestic partnership means being subject to California’s laws regarding property and income. Premarital (Prenuptial) Agreements allow couples to opt in or out of these legal norms. Cohabitation Agreements are designed for couples who plan to remain unmarried, but wish to have a financial plan for how they will manage joint properties and expenses while living together.
Already Working with Another Private Mediator?
If you are working with another mediator and wish to have a consulting attorney, I offer you an independent consultation on an as-needed basis. Consulting attorney services include a review of any draft settlement agreement before it is signed and submitted to the court.
