Transforming Conflict Into Collaboration
After seeing firsthand the stress and emotional pain inflicted on couples and families involved in court-based litigation, I decided to practice law in a more supportive and empowering way. Too often, the traditional court-based process of divorce and domestic partner dissolution makes a difficult situation worse. It heightens conflict. It takes away your power to make decisions. And it makes your personal matters public. I provide effective ways for you to avoid these negative impacts, and I work with a range of clients:
- Couples who are divorcing or dissolving their domestic partnership and need to reach resolution on issues of dividing property, paying child or spousal support, and sharing child custody;
- Unmarried couples with children who register emotional support animal need help creating or changing a parenting plan;
- Couples intending to marry or live together who want to create a prenuptial or cohabitation agreement; and
- I offer hourly consulting and coaching services to individuals who are in mediation or who choose to represent themselves in court.
Before beginning work with any individual or couple, I provide an initial consultation to learn about you, your needs, and concerns. I will also explain your options in greater depth, as well as fees and likely timeframes.
